I never really thought much about it until I put it out here like this. Basically though, it means there’s no one way to do something and buying and selling land is no different. When you get started in this business you’re main goal is to make money but as you continue to grow you’ll start to find your niche. Some people like to work the same county over and over. Others like the quick flip of smaller deals while some want to Owner Finance large deals for many many years. These are all things you’ll figure out as you grow and none of them are wrong. If you like it and you’re making the money you want then stick with it and grow it as big as you want.

What exactly does that mean? Well.. When’s the last time you went to your land, stood in the middle of it and just yelled, “Land For Sale!! Come and get it!!” and hundreds or thousands of people just started showing up to see it? I’m guessing never. That’s because we sell the dream of ownership online. It goes deeper than that though. When you sell something online you’ve gotta have a story behind it and you’ve gotta choose your Photos and your Titles and your Copy and then you’ve gotta watch how people react to it. You may think you wrote the best sales page out there but nobody’s contacting you. So what do you do then? Just keep waiting or do you get proactive and make some changes? I’d say for the most part the land business is filled with some really good people and I can honestly say I haven’t dealt with anyone that needs a big reality check. It’s really easy to keep it that way too: Do what you say you’re going to do, if you don’t know something say you don’t know and don’t screw each other out of deals. I know there may be some slip ups but as long as we strive for Integrity in all parts of our business there’s no reason we can’t all flourish in this niche.
